"A FAMILY AFFAIR"
Our biannual Family and Friends Day was a huge success. The fun-filled event included great food, lots of games with prizes, our famous Kids vs. Adults basketball game and loads of family members and friends who came to support our residents . This year*s Family Day also featured our *Stop and Shop* FREE thrift store, where families and friends were able to choose gently used clothing and household items that may be useful to them.
Rowley Residence is teaming up with the Atlanta Chapter of the Retired National Basketball Association (NBA) to participate in several community outreach projects. Our residents will work side by side with NBA legends to create positive change in our community. This partnership is spearheaded by our Founder/CFO Harold Keeling who is a retired Dallas Maverick, it is expected to tip off this Winter.
Our first annual Bowling Bash for Boys fundraiser was a blast! Our staff sold gift cards to Stars and Strikes Bowling Centers. The finale of the fundraiser was held in late October at the Stone Mountain location where residents, staff, and supporters came dressed in costumes. The event was inclusive of pizza, cupcakes donated by Ladyfingers & Co., bowling and laser tag. This was the first bowling and/or laser tag experience for 7 of our 12 residents.
ORANGE DUFFLE BAG PROGRAM Hats off to our 5 residents who completed the Orange Duffle Bag Foundation program (ODBFP). ODBFP is a 12 week life coaching program that focuses on character building and life skills development. Upon completion, residents received a plethora of incentives including a laptop computer.
Congratulations to our 2 senior residents for completing Georgia*s Personal Responsibility Education Program (PREP). The 16 week program assists youth in becoming healthy, responsible, self-sufficient adults by educating them on healthy relationships, adolescent development, financial literacy, parent-child communication, educational and career preparation, and healthy life skills. The 2 residents were awarded Kindle Fire tablets for their participation.

TRIP OF A LIFETIME!
This year's vacation, affectionately named "Trip of a Lifetime" was an experience that our residents (and staff) will never forget! We vacationed in the mountains of Tennessee at the Covered Bridge Resort. Our cabin featured 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, a private jacuzzi, a game room with pool table, arcade game, Nintendo Game Cube, Playstation, and Xbox 360. In addition to in-cabin activities, we went river inner tubing, paint balling, souvenir shopping and took a tour of the Mayfield Dairy. Thank you to those who participated in our fundraising efforts!
T.I. & Rowley Residence Staff Members
T.I. Visits Rowley Residence!
Grammy award winning rapper Clifford "T.I." Harris made a surprise visit to Rowley Residence. During his visit T. I. shared stories of personal experiences. He talked with each resident individually about his future career goals and offered insight into steps to achieving their goals. A highlight of the discussion was when T.I. called his uncle for additional advice on assisting a resident to reach his goals of owning a construction company. T.I. ended his visit with a question and answer period and by taking pictures with staff members and residents. His visit was an eye opening experience for our residents about the realities of the entertainment industry and steps necessary for achieving personal goals.
